The Night of Contemporary Choreography

Вечер современной хореографии

A Contemporary Evening promises an outstanding synthesis of the works of Robbins’s energy (The Cage), Lander’s virtuosity (Etudes), and Ratmansky’s witty brilliance (Russian Seasons). The three works bring out the masters of contemporary choreography.
Etudes embodies the much loved qualities of ballet: white tutus, lyrical duets, beautiful solos, familiar music, and a powerful finale.
The Cage is a short and extravagant performance with which Anastasia Stashkevich earned a Golden Mask award.
Russian Seasons is a fusion of melancholy and boisterousness of chilling, impassioned rebellion. Leonid Desyatnikov’s score makes this a complex, vivid, tragic and fascinating performance.
The combination of the three choreographed works are a very welcome addition to Bolshoi's repertoire.

Salzburg: La Traviata

This recording of Verdi’s "La Traviata" from the 2005 Salzburg Festival – the uncontested and hopelessly sold-out highlight of the festival season – captures the triumphal performance not only of Anna Netrebko as Violetta Valéry, but also of Rolando Villazón as her lover Alfredo.
