Victor Hugo

Lucrèce Borgia

Комеди Франсез: Лукреция Борджиа

Famous for her beauty, Lucretia Borgia is associated nowadays with murder and incest. This ruthless femme fatale’s name struck horror in the hearts of all around her.

The play by Victor Hugo, directed by Denis Podalydès is "a chasm of shadow, an ambivalent and subversive tragedy" where the vibrant scenography, sound creations and imagined costumes give a cinematographic aspect to this melodrama. Elsa Lepoivre is this woman struck by the fatality who can’t prevent herself from turning into a monster when she strives to adopt a moral behavior. Great classical theater presented by a legendary troupe.

Salzburg: La Traviata

This recording of Verdi’s "La Traviata" from the 2005 Salzburg Festival – the uncontested and hopelessly sold-out highlight of the festival season – captures the triumphal performance not only of Anna Netrebko as Violetta Valéry, but also of Rolando Villazón as her lover Alfredo.
